From: Turks & Caicos Islands
I grew up in the Turks & Caicos Islands, where I developed a strong love for the ocean and watersports. I began kiteboarding when I was 11 and was one of the orginal 6 kiteboarders in the Turks & Caicos.
Having been kiting for nearly half of my life, I watched the sport grow and develop as I grew myself. Kiteboarding has shaped my life and attitude and I have been blessed with a wonderful crew of local kiters to inspire and push me to the next level.
I started organising Windvibes, the country's first and only kiteboarding event, at the age of 13 and have continued to build the event for the past 7 years. The process of organising Windvibes has helped me develop organisational skills and improve my public speaking. Kiteboarding and Windvibes are two things I love doing, and the combination is a fun, family friendly event that promotes the water lifestyle of the Turks & Caicos Islands. Windvibes has shown me that anything is possible!
Kiteboarding and the people I associate with have taught me to respect the environment and the fragile ecosystems in which we live.
The ocean has been my playground for so long, and it must be respected. I organise beach clean-ups to help with the sea trash problems and do animal related charity work, as the beginning steps of my giving back to the community. I live true to a conscious, eco-friendly and healthy lifestyle.
When it's not windy enough to kite, I often go kayaking or stand up paddling. I take advantage of the beautiful water surrounding the Turks & Caicos Islands by being in it as much as possible!
